AliExpress Choice is a section of products that AliExpress itself prices, stores, ships and supports, instead of leaving it all to the seller. In the markets where it is fully rolled out, it comes with free shipping thresholds, delivery guarantees and free returns. Pakistan has not been named in any of the Choice announcements we could find, so for a Pakistani address treat the badge as a sign of a managed listing, not a promise of free returns or fast delivery. Check the order page before paying.
What does the Choice label on AliExpress mean?
Choice is a premium tier inside AliExpress that launched on 1 March 2023. You see it as a Choice tab on the AliExpress homepage and app, and as a Choice badge on individual product pages. Alibaba Group describes it as a hybrid: the products still come from merchants and factories, but AliExpress takes over pricing, delivery and after-sales service. Alibaba calls this a "fully-entrusted" model.
In plain terms, a normal AliExpress listing is a seller's shop that happens to sit on AliExpress. The seller sets the price, picks the shipping method and answers your messages. A Choice listing is closer to AliExpress selling the item itself, with the factory as its supplier. Cainiao, the logistics company in the same group, handles parcel bundling and shipping for Choice orders.
How is a Choice item different from a normal AliExpress listing?
The differences are mostly about who is responsible after you pay:
- Price: set by the platform rather than the seller, so there is little room to negotiate with the merchant.
- Shipping: handled by AliExpress and Cainiao. Several Choice items in one order can be bundled into one parcel.
- Free shipping: in most markets, Choice items qualify for free shipping above an order value (around 10 US dollars in Alibaba's description) or when you buy three or more Choice items.
- Returns and delivery promises: offered country by country, not everywhere. This is the part that matters most for Pakistan.
Does AliExpress Choice work for buyers in Pakistan?
The badge itself appears for many countries. Alibaba says Choice was available in 215 countries and regions during its financial year. That does not mean every Choice perk applies everywhere. When it announced the service, AliExpress said free returns would cover more than 15 countries and delivery guarantees nearly 20, all in "selected countries". By December 2023, Alibaba said free returns covered more than 20 countries and delivery guarantees 23.
The countries named in those announcements are markets like Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, South Korea and Australia. Pakistan is not named in any of them, and we could not find an AliExpress page that lists Pakistan as a free-returns or guaranteed-delivery market. So the safe assumption, at the time of writing, is this: a Choice item shipped to Pakistan is a platform-managed item, and you should read the delivery estimate and return terms shown at checkout rather than rely on what Choice offers in Europe.
Does Choice mean free shipping to Pakistan?
Sometimes. Free shipping on Choice is a cart rule, not a per-item promise. If the checkout shows free shipping to your Pakistani address once you pass the threshold or add a third Choice item, it applies. If it shows a shipping charge, that is the real price. Thresholds also change during sales like 11.11, so a cart that ships free one week may not the next.
A common trap is adding a third cheap item just to reach the free shipping rule. Add up the total before and after. Sometimes paying the shipping on one item costs less than the extra item you did not need.
How long does a Choice order take to reach Pakistan?
The fast delivery numbers you read about Choice, such as five-day or ten-day windows, are for the markets with local warehouses and guarantees. Alibaba describes its five-day delivery programme as running in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium and a few others. Pakistan is not on that list.
For Pakistan, a Choice parcel still travels as international post or through a consolidator, then gets handed to Pakistan Post or a local partner for customs and delivery. AliExpress orders to Pakistan commonly take 25 to 60 days by post. Choice may sit at the faster end of that range because the item is already in a platform warehouse, but there is no published Pakistan guarantee to hold AliExpress to. Our guide to tracking a parcel from China to Pakistan explains what each tracking stage means.
Can you return a Choice item from Pakistan?
In the markets where Choice free returns run, the window has been described as 15 days from receiving the item, with a prepaid label to a regional return hub, and some items excluded. Earlier pilots excluded categories such as phones, underwear, food and customised products.
None of that is confirmed for Pakistan. What you can rely on is AliExpress's general buyer protection: you open a dispute from the order page if the item does not arrive or does not match the listing. Refunds for items that never arrive are usually straightforward. For a wrong or faulty item, you may be asked to send it back to China at your own cost, which for a cheap item is rarely worth it. Read our guide to refunds and returns when importing from China before you order anything you might need to send back.
Do you pay customs on a Choice parcel in Pakistan?
Choice does not change Pakistani customs. A Choice parcel is assessed like any other parcel arriving by post or courier. Under section 19C of the Customs Act, as it reads after the Finance Act 2025, duties and taxes are waived only where the value of goods coming through post or courier does not exceed one thousand rupees. Above that, the parcel can be assessed in full. For most real purchases, assume duty may be due.
If the parcel comes by post, Pakistan Customs examines it and Pakistan Post collects any duty on its behalf. See our guide to customs duty from China to Pakistan for how the amount is worked out.

How to check what Choice gives you before you pay
- Set the country at the top of the AliExpress site or app to Pakistan and enter your full address. Perks and delivery estimates change with the destination.
- Open the product page and look under the price for the Choice badge, the delivery estimate and any return wording. If it does not say free returns for your address, assume there are none.
- Add the item to the cart and look at the shipping line at checkout. That is the real shipping cost to Pakistan, whatever the banner says.
- Check whether the estimate is a date range or a guarantee. Only a guarantee comes with any compensation if it is missed.
- Take a screenshot of the listing, the price and the delivery estimate. Listings change, and screenshots help in a dispute.
- Make sure your card has international online payments switched on before checkout. PayPak cards do not work on foreign sites.
Common mistakes with Choice orders
- Reading European Choice reviews as if they apply to Pakistan. Five-day delivery and free returns reviews are written by people in markets with those services.
- Assuming Choice means genuine branded goods. Choice is about logistics and service. It is not a brand authenticity badge. Look for the brand's official store if that matters.
- Padding the cart for free shipping. The extra items add to the customs value of the parcel too.
- Splitting a big order into many small ones to dodge duty. Customs can treat related parcels as one import, and the Finance Act 2025 change to section 19C was aimed at exactly this kind of misuse.
- Waiting too long to open a dispute. Buyer protection has a countdown on the order page. Open the dispute before it runs out, not after.
When is it easier to send the link to someone in Pakistan?
Choice is a good deal when the item is cheap, you are not in a hurry and you are happy to take the loss if it goes wrong. It is a worse deal for anything you need within a month, anything above the point where customs will assess it, or anything you cannot pay for with a working international card.
For those, send us the AliExpress link on WhatsApp. Within 24 hours we reply with one price in rupees that covers the item, shipping, customs and our fee, with the fee stated upfront. You pay once before it ships and nothing on delivery, and it reaches any address in Pakistan in 7 to 15 days after the seller dispatches. We handle one item per order only, never bulk or resale stock. If you are comparing routes, our guide to buying from AliExpress in Pakistan covers the direct route in full.

Frequently asked questions
Is AliExpress Choice available in Pakistan?
Choice items can be bought and shipped to Pakistan, but the headline perks such as free returns and delivery guarantees were announced for named markets that do not include Pakistan. Check the checkout page for what applies to your address.
Does the Choice badge mean the product is genuine?
No. Choice means AliExpress manages pricing, shipping and after-sales for that listing. It is not a brand authenticity mark.
How long does a Choice order take to reach Pakistan?
There is no published Pakistan delivery guarantee. AliExpress parcels to Pakistan commonly take 25 to 60 days by post, and Choice may be at the faster end.
Can I return a Choice item for free from Pakistan?
Free Choice returns have only been confirmed for selected markets, and Pakistan is not among those named. Expect to rely on a normal dispute instead.
Will I pay customs on a Choice parcel?
Possibly. Duties are only waived where goods arriving by post or courier are valued at one thousand rupees or less, so most purchases above that can be assessed.
Why is the Choice price fixed?
Because AliExpress sets Choice prices itself instead of the seller, so there is no room to negotiate with the merchant.
