How to Get the 70mai A810S 4K Dash Cam in Pakistan

Quick answer

The 70mai Dash Cam 4K A810S is a front dash cam with a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor and a supercapacitor instead of a battery, which suits hot cars better. It pairs with 70mai's RC24 in-car rear camera, takes microSD cards from 32GB to 512GB, and needs 70mai's hardwire kit for parking features. It was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026, so importing one unit is the usual route.

What is the 70mai A810S?

The A810S is 70mai's 4K front dash cam and the update to the A810. It records the road ahead in 3840 x 2160, has a 3-inch screen, built-in GPS, Wi-Fi to the 70mai phone app, and voice control. It can add a rear camera, record a buffered clip that includes the moments before a collision, and watch the car while parked if you hardwire it. It suits drivers who want clear footage of number plates and road incidents, and who park in the open in a hot country.

A few details from 70mai's official page are worth knowing before you buy. The G-sensor that triggers emergency clips has five sensitivity levels, so you can stop every pothole on a broken road from saving a locked clip. With a hardwire kit, AI motion detection records 30-second clips from both cameras when something moves near the parked car. The optional 4G service adds remote viewing and live route tracking, which 70mai says is limited to 15 activations a month. Note also that the official page lists Wi-Fi 6 at 2.4GHz in its spec table, so transfers to your phone may be slower than the marketing text suggests.

Supercapacitor or battery: why does it matter in Pakistan's heat?

Many cheap dash cams have a small lithium battery inside. In a car parked in the sun, the cabin and especially the top of the windscreen get far hotter than the air outside. Lithium cells do not like that. Repeated heat shortens their life, and a heat-damaged cell can swell and push the camera's case apart.

A supercapacitor stores a small charge electrically rather than through a chemical reaction, so it does not swell the same way and copes much better with heat. 70mai says the A810S supercapacitor is rated for up to 85°C. The trade-off is that a supercapacitor holds very little energy. It is only there to save the last file safely when you switch the engine off. It cannot run the camera while parked. That is why parking recording needs a hardwire kit.

Two practical points for summer:

  • 70mai lists the camera's operating range as -10°C to 60°C. A car parked in full sun can go past that, so the camera may shut itself off to protect itself. A windscreen sunshade and parking in shade help.
  • Mount it behind the rear-view mirror, where it gets some shade and stays out of your line of sight.

Should you add a rear camera?

70mai lists two rear options for the A810S on its official page:

Rear cameraWhere it goesNotes
RC24Inside, on the rear window1080p HDR, Sony IMX662, 30fps, no drilling or outside wiring
RC23Outside, as a backup cameraSame sensor, avoids tinted-glass problems. 70mai's store listed it as not available yet when we checked

Do not mix up rear cameras between models. 70mai's RC11 and RC12 are listed for the older A810 and A800S, not the A810S. On the 70mai store, the A810S was offered as Front Cam, Front + Rear Cam, and Front + Rear + 128GB. If you might want a rear camera later, buying the Front + Rear bundle now is simpler than ordering the rear cam separately.

Think about how you will use the rear footage. If you drive mostly in slow city traffic, a bump from behind is hard to prove without footage, and a rear camera is the only way to show what happened. If most of your driving is highway trips, the front camera alone covers the incidents that matter most.

Heavily tinted rear glass, common in Pakistan, can darken an inside rear camera's picture at night. If your rear window is dark, keep that in mind.

Which microSD card should you use?

The A810S accepts cards from 32GB to 512GB. 4K front video plus a rear camera fills a card quickly, and a dash cam writes non-stop, which wears cards out much faster than a phone does. Advice that holds for any dash cam:

  • Buy a "high endurance" card designed for continuous recording, from a known brand. 70mai also sells its own card made for dash cams.
  • 128GB or 256GB is a sensible size for front and rear recording. Bigger cards hold more history before loop recording overwrites old files.
  • Format the card in the camera when you first fit it, and again every few weeks.
  • Beware of fake cards that report a larger size than they really have. They fail without warning, which is exactly when you need the footage.
  • Save important clips to your phone through the app soon after an incident.

Hardwire kit or 12V socket: which should you use?

12V socket (cigarette lighter)Hardwire kit to the fuse box
InstallPlug in, run the cable round the headlinerConnect to fuse box, usually by a car electrics shop
Parking featuresNoYes, needed for parking mode
Socket stays freeNoYes
Battery protectionNot needed in most carsKit cuts power at low battery voltage

70mai's A810S page says all parking features require a 70mai hardwire kit, and its store says AI motion detection needs it. If you just want recording while driving, the 12V socket is fine. In some cars the socket stays live with the engine off, so check yours does not drain the battery overnight. For parking mode, ask the seller which 70mai hardwire kit fits the A810S, and send that link too.

70mai also sells a 4G hardwire kit for remote viewing. We could not confirm how it works on Pakistani networks or whether a device with a SIM needs registration here, so we suggest the standard hardwire kit unless you have checked this yourself.

How do you install the A810S?

  1. Clean the windscreen behind the mirror and stick the mount where the wipers clear the glass.
  2. Tuck the power cable along the headliner and down the door pillar, keeping it clear of any airbag.
  3. Plug into the 12V socket, or have a hardwire kit fitted to the fuse box.
  4. Insert and format the microSD card in the camera.
  5. Check the date and time in the camera's settings so your clips are stamped correctly.
  6. Fit the rear camera on the rear window, routing its cable along the headliner.

Is the A810S sold in Pakistan?

It was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026. Daraz showed plenty of unbranded 1080p and "4K" 3-channel dash cams such as the Y15 and Y16 types. Those are cheaper, but specifications on such listings are often vague about the sensor and power storage. If heat tolerance and clear plate detail matter to you, the A810S is a different class of camera.

Common mistakes with dash cams

  • Using an ordinary microSD card and finding it dead when you need a clip.
  • Expecting parking mode without a hardwire kit.
  • Ordering an RC12 rear camera for an A810S.
  • Mounting the camera where the wipers do not clear, so rain blurs every night recording.
  • Never checking the footage until after an accident.

What should you check when it arrives?

  • The box and the camera's settings say A810S, not A810.
  • The rear camera, if ordered, is the RC24 and the cable fits the camera's port.
  • The camera records with your card, and the app connects over Wi-Fi.
  • GPS locks after a short drive, and the clips show the correct date and time.
  • Play back a night clip to check plates are readable at your usual following distance.

Frequently asked questions

Does the 70mai A810S have a battery?

No lithium battery pack. It uses a supercapacitor plus a button cell, which handles heat better but cannot power the camera while parked.

Which rear camera works with the A810S?

70mai lists the RC24 in-car rear camera and the RC23 exterior backup camera. The RC11 and RC12 are listed for the older A810.

What size microSD card does the A810S take?

70mai lists 32GB to 512GB. Use a high-endurance card from a known brand and format it in the camera.

Do I need a hardwire kit?

Only for parking features. 70mai says all parking features require its hardwire kit. For driving-only recording, the 12V socket is enough.

Will the A810S survive a Pakistani summer?

Its supercapacitor suits heat better than a battery, but 70mai lists an operating limit of 60°C. Use a sunshade and park in shade where you can.

Is the 70mai A810S available on Daraz?

It was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026. Generic 3-channel dash cams were.
