Quick answer

The Anbernic RG 477M is a pocket Android handheld gaming device with a CNC aluminium body, a 4.7-inch 1280x960 120Hz touch screen, a MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip and a 5300mAh battery. It was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026. Choose the 8GB or 12GB model and the version without a bundled SD card, then import it: send the link, pay one rupee price once, and receive it typically 7 to 15 days after dispatch.

What is the Anbernic RG 477M and who is it for?

The RG 477M is an Android handheld gaming device from Anbernic, a Chinese maker of handhelds. It looks like a compact game console with a screen in the middle, a D-pad and buttons, and two joysticks. Inside, it runs Android 14 on a phone-class MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chip, so it plays Android games and apps with physical controls instead of a touch screen.

It suits you if you want:

  • A premium, metal-bodied handheld that still fits a jacket pocket.
  • Proper controls for Android games instead of playing on a phone screen.
  • A 4:3 screen shape, which reviewers note suits classic-style games well.

It does not suit you if you want something light. Anbernic lists it at 354g, and a hands-on review called it heavier than many buyers expect.

Anbernic rates the 5300mAh battery for about 7 hours. Real battery life depends on the game, the screen brightness and whether you use 120Hz. Lowering the refresh rate and brightness for less demanding games is the simplest way to stretch it on a long journey.

Which RG 477M version should you buy?

Anbernic's page offers three choices: memory, colour and an SD card option.

  • Memory: 8GB + 128GB or 12GB + 256GB. The retrohandhelds.gg reviewer felt 8GB is enough for most people and the 12GB option is not needed. Choose 12GB if you want the larger 256GB internal storage.
  • Colour: Chocolate Bronze or Silver Blade. Same hardware. Pick on looks. Anbernic's page does not say every colour, memory and card combination is always in stock, so confirm the exact combination on the listing before sending it to us.
  • SD card: choose "no SD card". Anbernic offers the console with no card, a 128GB card or a 256GB card. Pick the version without a bundled card. You get a cleaner order, and you can buy a known-brand microSD card in Pakistan from a shop you trust, sized to what you actually need. Internal storage of 128GB or 256GB is plenty to start with.

Anbernic's page also lists one Chocolate Bronze option with damaged outer packaging. If a seller offers that, read the description so you know what you are getting.

How much storage do you need, and which microSD card?

The 8GB model has 128GB of internal storage, and the 12GB model has 256GB. Android games and apps vary a lot in size, so start with the internal storage and add a card only when you need it. The RG 477M takes microSD cards up to 2TB, according to Anbernic.

  • Buy a card from a known brand from a shop that will replace it if it is faulty.
  • After inserting it, check the capacity shown in Android's storage settings matches the label. Fake-capacity cards report a bigger size than they really hold.
  • Let the device format the card before you use it, and copy your own files to it after that.

This is the other reason to pick the version without a bundled SD card. You stay in control of the card's brand, size and warranty, and you are not paying extra for something you can buy locally.

What comes in the box, and do I need a charger?

Anbernic lists the RG 477M, a USB-C charging cable, a screen protector, a user manual and a silicone protective case. No wall adapter is listed. To charge at the full rated 27W, use a USB-C charger that supports 9V output, such as a USB Power Delivery charger of 27W or more. A lower-powered USB-C charger should still charge it, just more slowly.

Pakistan's mains supply is 220V to 240V. Many USB-C chargers are rated 100V to 240V, so check the label before you plug in, and use a proper adapter rather than forcing a Chinese or US plug into a loose socket.

What do reviewers say you should know before buying?

  • Weight. The reviewer found it heavy for its size, close to Anbernic's RG Slide.
  • Fan noise. The retrohandhelds.gg review found the fan comes on often and is noticeable. Play with headphones if that bothers you.
  • Digital triggers. The shoulder triggers are digital, not analog. Racing games that rely on gradual throttle feel less precise.
  • Tall sticks. The joysticks sit high. The reviewer swapped the caps for lower ones.
  • Controls and build. The same review rated the D-pad and face buttons well and found the rounded metal body comfortable.

Does the RG 477M work in Pakistan, and does it need PTA approval?

It connects over Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. Anbernic's spec sheet lists no SIM slot or mobile network, so it is not a mobile phone and the DIRBS phone registration process is not the usual concern. Rules change, so check current PTA guidance if you are unsure. Home Wi-Fi in Pakistan works normally, and Bluetooth controllers and headphones pair as with any Android device. With USB-C DisplayPort output it can also connect to a TV or monitor with a suitable USB-C to HDMI adapter.

Is the RG 477M on Daraz, and what are the local alternatives?

The RG 477M was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026. An Anbernic search there showed only accessories, such as RG35XX screen protectors and carry cases. Larger handhelds do appear on Daraz:

How do you import one RG 477M with us?

  1. Copy the RG 477M link from Anbernic's store, AliExpress or another Chinese marketplace. A link is required.
  2. Send it on WhatsApp with your choice: memory size, colour, and the no SD card option.
  3. Within 24 hours you get one price in rupees covering the item, shipping, customs and our fee, with the fee stated upfront.
  4. Pay once, before it ships, by bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa.
  5. We buy it, ship by air and clear customs. Anbernic's page says it ships from China.
  6. It reaches your address typically 7 to 15 days after the seller dispatches, with nothing to pay on delivery.

Devices with a built-in battery, like this one, are usually fine to ship by air. Loose batteries and power banks are a different story, as our guide to what you cannot import from China to Pakistan explains. One item per order, for personal use, never bulk or resale stock. More items are on our products page.

What should you check when it arrives?

  1. Box contents. Console, USB-C cable, screen protector, manual and silicone case.
  2. Correct version. Go to Settings, then About, and confirm the memory and storage match what you ordered.
  3. Screen. Look for dead pixels on a plain white and a plain black background, and confirm the 120Hz option in display settings.
  4. Controls. Press every button, move both sticks in full circles and tilt the device to confirm the gyroscope responds.
  5. Charging. Plug in a USB-C charger and confirm the battery percentage rises.
  6. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Join your network and pair a headset.
  7. Fan. Play a demanding game for ten minutes and listen. The reviewer found the fan noticeable, so some noise is normal, but grinding or rattling is not.
  8. Screen protector. Anbernic includes one. Apply it in a clean, dust-free room before you start carrying the device around.

Common mistakes when buying the RG 477M

  • Choosing a bundled SD card option instead of buying a branded card locally.
  • Paying for 12GB when 8GB would do, according to the reviewer.
  • Assuming a wall charger is in the box. Anbernic lists only a cable, so use your own 27W-capable USB-C charger.
  • Confusing it with older, cheaper Anbernic models such as the RG35XX series, which are very different devices.
  • Forgetting the weight. It is a solid metal device, not a featherweight.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Anbernic RG 477M available on Daraz?

It was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026. Only Anbernic accessories showed up, so importing is the route.

Should I buy the RG 477M with the SD card bundle?

No. Choose the version without a bundled SD card and buy a known-brand microSD card locally if you need more space.

8GB or 12GB RG 477M?

A hands-on reviewer found 8GB enough for most people. Pick 12GB mainly if you want 256GB of internal storage instead of 128GB.

Does the RG 477M come with a charger?

Anbernic lists a USB-C cable but no wall adapter. Use a USB-C charger that supports 9V output to reach the rated 27W.

Can the RG 477M connect to a TV?

Yes. Anbernic lists 1080p DisplayPort output over USB-C, so a USB-C to HDMI adapter connects it to a TV or monitor.

How long does an RG 477M take to reach Pakistan?

Through us, typically 7 to 15 days after the seller dispatches, delivered with customs already paid.
