How to Get the FiiO KA17 in Pakistan

Quick answer

The FiiO KA17 is a USB-C DAC and headphone amp with dual ESS ES9069Q chips, 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, and a Desktop Mode that uses a second USB-C power port to raise balanced output to about 650mW per channel at 32 ohms. A Daraz search for KA17 returned no results in October 2026. Import one unit: send the link, pay one rupee price once, and receive it typically 7 to 15 days after the seller dispatches.

What is the FiiO KA17 and who needs one?

The KA17 is a dongle-style DAC and amplifier. It plugs into a phone, laptop or PC over USB-C and gives you a proper headphone output in place of the weak or missing jack on most modern phones. FiiO is a Chinese audio brand.

What makes the KA17 different from small dongles is power. It has two modes: a normal mode that runs from the phone's USB power, and a Desktop Mode that draws extra power from a dedicated orange USB-C port. That makes it useful for:

  • Full-size headphones that need more power than a phone dongle can give.
  • People who want one device for both commuting with IEMs and sitting at a desk with headphones.
  • Android users who want a 10-band parametric EQ in hardware through FiiO's app.

If you only use easy-to-drive IEMs such as the Moondrop Aria 2 or Truthear Hexa, the KA17 is more power than you need. A smaller dongle like the Moondrop Dawn Pro may suit you better.

What are the KA17's verified specs?

From FiiO's official KA17 pages:

Outputs3.5mm single-ended (shared with coaxial out), 4.4mm balanced

EQ10-band parametric, each band adjustable
Size and weightAbout 64 x 27.7 x 12.7mm, about 33.5g
ColoursBlack, blue, titanium, each with a leatherette case

How much power does the KA17 give in each mode?

FiiO publishes these figures at 32 ohms, high gain, with THD+N below 1%:

OutputNormal modeDesktop Mode
3.5mm single-endedAbout 140mW per channelAbout 270mW per channel
4.4mm balancedAbout 300mW per channelAbout 650mW per channel

The jump comes from Desktop Mode. FiiO says it needs sufficient USB power, and the orange port lets you connect an external power supply so the KA17 reaches higher output without draining your phone. FiiO's page does not state a wattage for that supply, so use a decent USB-C charger and check its label reads 100V to 240V, which covers Pakistan's 220V to 240V mains.

Which mode and gain to use depends on what you plug in. FiiO says the two gain settings exist for headphones of different impedances:

What you are usingSuggested settingWhy
Sensitive IEMs on a phoneNormal mode, low gainPlenty of volume, finer volume control, less battery drain
IEMs at a deskNormal mode, low gainDesktop Mode adds power IEMs do not need
Full-size headphones on a phoneNormal mode, high gainMore headroom without an extra charger
Demanding headphones at a deskDesktop Mode, high gain, 4.4mm if possibleGives the highest rated output

Turning Desktop Mode on, step by step:

  1. Connect the KA17's main USB-C port to your phone or computer.
  2. For extra power, plug a USB-C charger into the orange POWER IN port.
  3. Switch the D.Mode switch on. FiiO says this changes the DAC, amp power supply and output settings together.
  4. Start with the volume low, then raise it. Output in Desktop Mode is much higher, and IEMs can get very loud quickly.

What does the parametric EQ actually do?

An equaliser lets you raise or lower parts of the sound, such as bass or harsh treble. A parametric EQ is more precise than the usual slider EQ on a phone. FiiO's page says each of the 10 bands lets you set the frequency, the gain and the bandwidth. Because the EQ runs inside the KA17, the settings follow the dongle from your phone to your laptop.

Two limits from FiiO's page are worth knowing. PEQ works up to PCM 192kHz/24-bit, so it does not apply to higher sample rates. And it is not available in UAC1.0 mode, the driver-free compatibility mode. The 3.5mm port can also act as a coaxial digital output at up to 96kHz/32-bit, which matters only if you want to feed an external DAC or receiver.

Does the KA17 work with iPhone, Android and PC in Pakistan?

  • Android. Works over USB-C. FiiO's Android app, FIIO Control, adjusts PEQ, filter, gain and volume.
  • iPhone. Works as an audio device, but FiiO's page says iOS users cannot adjust settings through the app. To change EQ you connect the KA17 to a computer and use FiiO's website. Lightning iPhones also need a Lightning to USB-C cable, and FiiO's own Lightning cable is listed on Daraz.
  • Computers. FiiO lists a driver-free UAC1.0 mode that is plug and play. PEQ works up to 192kHz/24-bit and is not available in UAC1.0 mode.

It is a wired USB device. FiiO's KA17 pages list no Bluetooth.

Which colour and bundle should you pick?

All three colours have the same internals and come with a leatherette case. FiiO pairs black and blue with a matching case, and titanium with a black case. Pick on looks. What matters more:

  • Check it says KA17. FiiO sells other KA-series dongles with similar names. The KA17 is the one with the orange power port and the D.Mode switch.
  • Cables. FiiO's pages we opened do not list the box contents. If you need a specific cable, such as USB-C to Lightning or USB-C to USB-A, ask the seller what is included, or buy the cable locally.
  • 4.4mm headphones. To use the 650mW balanced output, your IEM or headphone cable needs a 4.4mm plug.

Size matters for daily carry. FiiO lists the KA17 at about 64 x 27.7 x 12.7mm and 33.5g, so it is longer and heavier than a basic dongle and will pull on a phone's port if it dangles. The included leatherette case helps protect it in a bag. At a desk, rest it on the table rather than letting it hang from a laptop.

Is the FiiO KA17 sold on Daraz?

A Daraz search for "FiiO KA17" returned zero results when we checked in October 2026. Searching "FiiO" alone showed accessories, a FiiO Lightning cable and the FiiO JD10 IEM, but not the KA17.

What are the alternatives sold in Pakistan?

OptionWhereTrade-off against the KA17
UGREEN USB-C to 3.5mm DAC adapterListed on DarazCheap and fine for easy IEMs, far less power, no 4.4mm
UGREEN USB-C audio adapter with PD chargingListed on DarazCharge and listen at once, no balanced output
Moondrop Dawn ProImportSmaller and lighter, 4.4mm output, no desktop power mode

For easy IEMs such as the Truthear Hexa, a UGREEN adapter from Daraz is enough. The KA17 is worth importing when you need the extra power or the hardware EQ.

One item per order, for personal use, not bulk or resale. FiiO is one of the Chinese brands worth buying from China, and our products page lists more audio gear people ask about.

What should you check when the KA17 arrives?

  1. Model and colour. The unit should have the 0.91-inch screen, the D.Mode switch and the orange POWER IN port.
  2. Normal mode. Connect to your phone, play music from the 3.5mm output, then the 4.4mm output if you have a balanced cable.
  3. Desktop Mode. Connect a charger to the orange port, turn on D.Mode, and confirm the screen and output respond. Keep the volume low at first.
  4. App or computer control. On Android, open FIIO Control and confirm it sees the device. On iPhone, plan to use a computer for settings.
  5. Case and buttons. Buttons should click cleanly and the leatherette case should fit.

Common mistakes when buying the KA17

  • Expecting full power from a phone alone. The 650mW balanced figure is a Desktop Mode number.
  • Buying a different KA-series model by mistake because the names look alike.
  • Expecting to change EQ from an iPhone app. FiiO says iOS needs a computer for settings.
  • Buying it only for easy IEMs, where a much smaller dongle does the same job.
