The Hollyland LARK MAX 2 is a wireless lavalier mic system whose transmitters record a backup copy internally, in 24-bit or 32-bit float, with built-in timecode. 32-bit float matters most when sound levels are unpredictable and nobody is watching the meters. The Solo kit has one mic and a camera receiver, and the Combo kits add a phone receiver and charging case. It was listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026.
What is the Hollyland LARK MAX 2?
The LARK MAX 2 is a clip-on wireless microphone system for video. Each transmitter is a small mic, about 14g, that you clip to a collar or attach with a magnet. It sends audio over 2.4GHz to a receiver on your camera or phone. What sets it apart from cheaper wireless mics is that each transmitter also records its own copy of the audio to 8GB of built-in memory, with timecode, so a dropout or a bad level on the receiver does not ruin the take.
It suits interviewers, YouTubers who film themselves, wedding and event videographers, journalists, and anyone recording people talking where re-shooting is not an option.
Who actually needs 32-bit float?
A normal 24-bit recording has a ceiling. If someone suddenly laughs, shouts or claps close to the mic and the level goes over that ceiling, the sound clips and the distortion cannot be removed later. Setting levels carefully avoids that, but only if someone is watching the meters.
A 32-bit float file stores sound in a way that keeps the peaks above that ceiling. Turn the loud part down in your editing software and it comes back clean. The catch, as audio engineers point out, is that this only helps if the microphone's own electronics did not clip first, which depends on the hardware design.
You will get real value from 32-bit float if you:
- Film alone, with nobody monitoring sound.
- Record people whose volume jumps, such as excited interviewees, children or speakers on a stage.
- Shoot loud events like weddings and functions where levels change all evening.
- Cannot repeat the moment.
You will not notice much difference if you record a steady voice in a quiet room with levels already set. In that case 24-bit is fine and lasts longer on the mic's memory.
One important detail: on the LARK MAX 2, 32-bit float applies to the internal recordings on each mic and to the camera receiver's USB-C digital output. Hollyland's manual says internal recording defaults to 24-bit and you switch to 32-bit float in the settings. The 3.5mm cable into a camera carries an analog signal, so your camera's own input level still decides whether that track clips. The 32-bit float file on the mic is your safety net.
How long can each mic record internally?
| Setting | Recording time on 8GB |
|---|---|
| 48kHz / 24-bit (default) | About 14 hours |
| 48kHz / 32-bit float | About 10 hours |
The manual says the receiver warns you when a mic has under 30 minutes left, and once full the mic overwrites its oldest files. Copy your files off after each job. You export them by connecting the mic to a computer over USB-C.
Which LARK MAX 2 kit should you buy?
Hollyland's user manual shows four kits:
| Kit | What is in it | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | 1 mic, camera receiver | One person talking to a camera |
| Combo (2-person) | 2 mics, camera receiver, USB-C receiver, charging case | Interviews, camera and phone use |
| Ultimate Combo | Combo contents plus OWS monitor earphones and their case | Solo shooters who want to hear the audio wirelessly |
| Combo 4-Person | 4 mics, camera receiver, USB-C receiver, charging case | Panels, podcasts, group interviews |
For most buyers the 2-person Combo is the sensible middle. You get the charging case, which extends battery life through a long day, and both receivers, so you can switch between camera and phone. Hollyland also sells transmitters, receivers and the charging case separately. Note that Hollyland says wireless monitoring is not available in 4-mic mode.
Phone or camera: how do you connect it?
- Camera: the camera receiver sits on the hot shoe or cold shoe and connects with a 3.5mm TRS cable. It has a touchscreen, a control knob for output gain, and a 3.5mm headphone jack for monitoring. Hollyland's FAQ says some Sony cameras with a digital hot shoe can take audio through the shoe using a separate accessory.
- Phone: the small USB-C receiver plugs straight into a USB-C phone. It also has a pass-through port so the phone can charge while recording. Hollyland's store notes that iPhone 14 and earlier need a USB-C to Lightning cable.
- Computer: the camera receiver's USB-C port gives digital audio in 24-bit or 32-bit float.
Settings are adjusted on the receiver or through Hollyland's LarkSound app, which the manual lists for iOS 12 and later and Android 8 and later.
A sensible first setup, based on Hollyland's manual:
- Charge everything in the charging case before the first use.
- Turn on the camera receiver, pick a language, and connect it to the LarkSound app by USB-C so it takes the correct time from your phone. The mic files are named from this clock.
- Check the mics are paired. A steady blue light means the mic and receiver are connected.
- In the menu, set the internal recording depth to 32-bit float if you want that safety net, and switch on timecode if your camera uses it.
- Choose the channel mode on the receiver. The manual says mono is the default, with stereo and safety track modes available.
- Press REC on each mic before you start filming, and check the red recording light is on.
- Do a short test recording, play it back, and set your camera's input level so the camera track does not clip.
What does timecode do for you?
Each mic has a built-in timecode generator. When timecode is on, every internal recording file is stamped at the start and end. If your camera also receives timecode from the receiver, your editing software can line up the mic files with the video automatically, instead of you matching waveforms by hand. That matters most on long shoots with many clips and several mics. If you only make short phone videos, you can ignore it.

Is the LARK MAX 2 sold in Pakistan?
Yes. When we checked Daraz in October 2026, the 2-person Combo, the Ultimate Combo and the 4-person Combo were listed by a seller named HollyLand. DJI's Mic 3 and Mic Mini 2 were also listed as alternatives. If the kit you want is in stock locally at a price you are happy with, buying locally gives you faster delivery and an easier return.
Importing makes more sense when the exact item is not available locally. Common examples are the Solo kit, a single spare transmitter, an extra USB-C receiver, or a replacement charging case. Compare the delivered price before deciding. Our guide on Daraz vs importing from China walks through that comparison.
Common mistakes with wireless mics
- Leaving internal recording switched off and losing the backup when the wireless signal drops.
- Recording in 32-bit float and then setting the camera input so hot that the camera track clips anyway.
- Forgetting to copy files off the mic, so it overwrites old recordings.
- Buying the Solo kit and then needing a phone receiver.
- Clipping the mic under clothing that rubs against it.
How does importing one LARK MAX 2 item work with us?
Send us the link to the kit or accessory on WhatsApp. A link is required, because kit names are easy to confuse. Within 24 hours you get one price in rupees covering the item, shipping, Pakistan customs and our fee, stated upfront. You pay once, before it ships, and nothing on delivery. We buy it, ship it by air, clear customs and deliver to your address in about 7 to 15 days after the seller dispatches. Devices with built-in batteries like these usually travel by air without problems. We handle single items for personal use, not stock for a camera shop. See also importing camera and photography gear from China and our products page.
What should you check when it arrives?
- The kit contents match the list above for the kit you ordered.
- Each mic pairs with the receiver and the status light goes steady blue.
- Pressing REC on a mic turns its red recording light on, and the file appears when you connect it to a computer.
- The charging case charges the mics and receiver.
- Update the firmware through LarkSound before your first paid job.
