How to Get the Moondrop Dawn Pro in Pakistan

Quick answer

The Moondrop Dawn Pro is a 13g USB-C DAC and amp with a 3.5mm single-ended output rated at 2Vrms and a 4.4mm balanced output rated at 4Vrms. Retailers list dual CS43131 chips and support up to 384kHz and DSD256. It was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026. To get one, import it: send the link, pay one rupee price once, and receive it typically 7 to 15 days after the seller dispatches.

What is the Moondrop Dawn Pro and who is it for?

The Dawn Pro is a small USB-C dongle that turns your phone's USB-C port into a good headphone output. It has two jacks: a regular 3.5mm and a 4.4mm balanced port. It is aimed at people who use wired IEMs with a phone and want a cleaner, stronger signal than a basic adapter, without carrying anything bigger than a USB stick.

The physical volume buttons are a practical plus. Retailer listings describe 100 volume steps, which helps with sensitive IEMs where a phone's own volume steps can jump from too quiet to too loud.

It suits you if you:

  • Use IEMs such as the Moondrop Aria 2, which ships with a 4.4mm plug ready for a balanced source.
  • Want something lighter and simpler than a desktop-capable dongle.
  • Listen on Android, a USB-C iPhone, or a laptop.
  • Prefer volume buttons on the dongle itself, so you can fine-tune loudness without picking up your phone.

If you drive full-size, power-hungry headphones, look at something with more output, such as the FiiO KA17 and its Desktop Mode.

What are the Dawn Pro's verified specs?

Moondrop's own page gives the measurement figures. A European retailer's listing adds the chips and formats, which Moondrop's page does not state.

Dawn Pro, Dawn Pro 2 or the original Dawn: which one?

This is where most buyers get confused. Moondrop has sold three similar names:

ModelWhat to know
Dawn (often listed as Dawn 4.4mm)An earlier, separate model with its own specs. Do not use its figures for the Dawn Pro.
Dawn ProThe model in this guide. 3.5mm and 4.4mm outputs, 4Vrms balanced.
Dawn Pro 2The newer model. Moondrop lists 4.1Vrms output and 124mW + 124mW into 16 ohms, with both 3.5mm and 4.4mm jacks.

Many listings mix up the specs of these three, so read the title and the listing images, not only the spec text. If a seller offers the Dawn Pro 2 for a similar amount, it is the newer version and worth considering. Just know which one you are ordering, because when it arrives you should get exactly what the listing named.

Will the Dawn Pro work with my phone and laptop?

  • Android phones with USB-C: Plug in with the included Type-C to Type-C cable.
  • iPhones with USB-C: Same cable.
  • iPhones with Lightning: You need a Lightning to USB-C cable. FiiO's Lightning DAC cable is listed on Daraz and is one option.
  • Laptops and PCs: Use the Type-A to Type-C adapter for older USB ports. Moondrop's page links to a WHQL-certified USB audio driver for Windows and a firmware download.

The 4.4mm port only helps if your IEM cable has a 4.4mm plug. With a 3.5mm cable, use the 3.5mm port.

Moondrop's page also offers firmware downloads and a user guide PDF for the Dawn Pro. Read the guide before updating anything, and only update firmware if you have a specific problem the update fixes. A failed update on a small dongle is a hassle you do not need.

Dawn Pro or FiiO KA17: which dongle do you need?

These two come up together often. They solve different problems:

For most people using IEMs on a phone, the lighter Dawn Pro is the simpler choice. Pick the KA17 if you own, or plan to buy, full-size headphones that need more power.

Why does the 4.4mm output matter?

A balanced 4.4mm output drives each earpiece with its own separate pair of wires. On the Dawn Pro, Moondrop rates the 4.4mm output at 4Vrms against 2Vrms on 3.5mm, with a higher signal-to-noise ratio (131dB against 123dB) and slightly lower background noise. In practice that means more headroom and a quieter background. Sensitive IEMs that hiss on weak sources tend to benefit from a low noise floor more than from extra volume. To use it you need an IEM cable ending in a 4.4mm plug. Some IEMs, such as the Moondrop Aria 2, include one in the box. For others, you buy a 4.4mm cable with the right connector for your earphones.

Is the Moondrop Dawn Pro sold on Daraz?

The Dawn Pro was not listed on Daraz when we checked in October 2026. Searches returned unrelated earbuds and other Moondrop items such as the Quark 2.

What Daraz does carry is a wide range of UGREEN USB-C audio adapters, including 2-in-1 versions with PD charging that let you charge your phone while listening. Moondrop's page does not mention charging pass-through on the Dawn Pro, so if you need to charge and listen at the same time on a long journey, a 2-in-1 adapter or a power bank break is the practical answer. If you mostly listen at home or on a full battery, that does not matter.

How do you import one Dawn Pro with us?

  1. Copy a Dawn Pro listing link from AliExpress, Taobao, 1688 or Alibaba. A link is required.
  2. Send it on WhatsApp and say clearly whether you want the Dawn Pro or the Dawn Pro 2.
  3. Within 24 hours we reply with one price in rupees covering the item, shipping, customs and our fee, with the fee stated upfront.
  4. Pay once, before it ships: bank transfer, Raast, JazzCash or Easypaisa.
  5. We buy from a rated seller, ship by air and clear customs.
  6. It arrives at your address typically 7 to 15 days after the seller dispatches. Nothing to pay at the door.

We handle one item per order for personal use, never bulk or resale stock. If you would rather order directly, our guide to buying from AliExpress in Pakistan covers the card problems and longer post times. More items are on our products page.

Will you pay customs on a small DAC? Yes, in principle. A DAC is an electronic device, and Pakistan has no meaningful duty-free threshold for commercial parcels. Customs duty depends on the HS code, sales tax is 18%, and other levies apply, commonly totalling 25% to 60% of the customs value. Rates change, so check the current rule. The Dawn Pro has no battery, so it ships by air without restrictions. Importing with us, this is all inside the one price. Read more in our guide to customs duty from China to Pakistan.

What should you check when it arrives?

  1. Model name. The unit and box should say Dawn Pro, or Dawn Pro 2 if that is what you ordered.
  2. Box contents. The dongle, a Type-C to Type-C cable and a Type-A to Type-C adapter.
  3. Both outputs. Play music through the 3.5mm port, then the 4.4mm port if you have a balanced cable.
  4. Volume buttons. They should step the volume up and down smoothly.
  5. Connector fit. The USB-C plug should sit firmly without crackling when you move the cable.
  6. On Windows. If the computer does not show the Dawn Pro as an audio output, install Moondrop's USB audio driver from the product page, then select it in Sound settings.

Common mistakes when buying the Dawn Pro

  • Comparing specs from a Dawn Pro 2 listing with a Dawn Pro price, or the other way round.
  • Expecting the 4.4mm figures with a 3.5mm cable. You need an IEM cable with a 4.4mm plug.
  • Buying it for heavy full-size headphones that need a more powerful amp.
